| The Staffordshire bull terrier is not categorized in France. You just have the papers and the dog does not fall on a police officer who knows nothing. Dogs that have problems are the American Staffordshire Terrier, Rottweiler, tosa inu dogs paperless whose morphology is similar to the type of dog pit bull, Boerbull (boerboel) mastiff. | |

| The law in France:
If the dog-type bull or rottweiler has no pedigree is 1st category, a law is passed, it must pass a license.
Obtaining this permit is subject to the behavioral assessment of dogs by a veterinarian. The owner must also hold a certificate of fitness, conditioned to follow a short training course on a day with a certified trainer. The dog must be sterilized, said the town hall, held on a leash and Muselier, possession prohibited to minors and persons who had court convictions, tattooed vaccinated against rabies, and assured the dog.
These documents are to achieve by December 31, 2009 but associations and petitions are fighting to push that date.
If the Staffordshire Bull Terrier has no pedigree he returns in Act 1st category. And if he has a pedigree it is in any category.
The law is less hard if the dog has a pedigree. We call that 2nd category. | |

| bsl makes me sad!! pitbulls have been banned over here for like 4 or 5 years now! dogos are banned as well.. I get so worried that soon the same thing will happen to either Bullterriers or Staffy's! I would never get rid of mine.. but I would be willing to get a license or anything to keep them!!! Bullbreeds are the best dogs ever!! So much bad media attention over here at the moment. Half the time it's Pitbull this or then they throw in "It was one of them Pitbull Bullmastiffs " | |
